XR Unity Development Test

As part of an XR (Extended Reality) game development workshop held at IIT Jodhpur, I had the opportunity to work hands-on with Unity to explore the immersive potential of AR (Augmented Reality) and VR (Virtual Reality) technologies in gaming. The workshop focused on blending traditional game design principles with the evolving possibilities of XR platforms. My contributions were centered around developing core game mechanics, implementing dynamic terrain generation, and designing an intuitive user interface tailored for immersive gameplay. This experience provided valuable insight into how spatial interactions, real-time feedback, and immersive storytelling can be integrated seamlessly to enhance player engagement in AR and VR environments.

The game concept we worked on was a medieval RPG (Role-Playing Game) set in a richly imagined fantasy world filled with enchanted forests, ancient ruins, and mythical creatures. Players took on the roles of diverse fantasy characters such as knights, sorcerers, elves, and shapeshifters, each with unique abilities and backstories. The gameplay emphasized exploration, quest-based progression, and strategic combat, all brought to life through immersive XR experiences. The terrain generation system allowed for procedurally created landscapes that evolved with player decisions, and the UI design was carefully crafted to maintain immersion while providing necessary information. This project not only enhanced my technical skills in Unity and XR tools but also deepened my understanding of narrative-driven game design within fantastical, immersive worlds.
